Twelveth Day of OJT (Dec 29, 2009) "Busy Hours"

As usual, i walked, together with my co-OJT's from the entrance of the subdivision, to our office. We cover almost 20 minutes for walking because we experimented on changing our usual way in going to our office. When we found out that we headed the wrong way, we decided to take our usual route in going to our office and return. When we arrived, our other co-OJT's are there. We start fixing our workstation and started working. As we continue editing the previous chapter projects that we had made yesterday, working hours passed. Each and everyone of us is busy working for our assigned task.We almost forgot the time. After some final drafting, we manage to finished our work for that day. I can say we have done a good job today for fulfilling our task as expected.

Eleventh Day of OJT (Dec 28, 2009) "Back Again"

It's already quarter to eight when I enter the village going to our office. But instead of riding a tricycle just to catch up on time, I still decided to walk because its just a fifteen minute walk from there to our office. While walking I saw my co-OJT's too so I went walking with them and after a while we arrived at the office. Reaching, we rest for a while and then started to work. Our supervisor had assigned us to do a new tasks which is to make a "Chapter Project" for each chapter of the book that we finished. I can say it's not that easy because it's more on thinking about what case study will you choose for a specific topic. We became really worried because this is another pressure for us but still we manage to become positive even though this task really challenge our minds. Anyway, tomorrow is another day and another day means another chance to work efficiently.

Tenth Day of OJT (Dec 23, 2009) "Halfday Pressure"

This is our last day in OJT before Christmas break. Our supervisor told us yesterday that we will only work half day today. Everyone of us is on the mood to work because we had finished our assigned tasks yesterday and that we're going home early today. After arriving at the office, we start to work. Everything is going smoothly and we had only few lessons and chapters of the book to be rechecked. Later that lunch, our supervisor talked to us and asked for the development of what we are working into, then the pressure enters. We had no idea that there are lots of instructions that we had to worked to, but we only learned it that day so we had to catch up just to finish our tasks. We work and work and work. So far, that day, we already start fixing what has to be fixed and then we go home, somewhat unworried.

Nineth Day of OJT (Dec 22, 2009) "Super Work"

The whole day was a very busy day for all of us because we're into editing lots of books that has a deadline to finish. We almost forgot the time while we're working because we're focus on editing those books for us to be able to work on to another sets of books. Our supervisor that day, leave us for a while to do some important thing. We almost forgot to eat our lunch and merienda just to finish all of that stuffs. After our hard work, we manage to finish more than the required books to edit. It's almost dark outside when we finally decide to go home and leave the office.

Eighth Day of OJT (Dec 21, 2009) "The Unexpected"

Today, we're going to work on new tasks which are to edit three books with specific deadlines of finishing. At first, we decided to help each other and work together in terms of editing the content of the book. We divided the lessons of each chapter of the book to each and every one of us so that we can work fast and move over to the next chapters. We work and work and work until the unexpected happens and we went out of the office with smiles on our faces. Anyway, today is also a significant day for everyone of us because we're going to have a picnic with someone who is very dear to us and that adds up to our happiness. Well, i can say unexpected things, sometimes makes a person happy.

Seventh Day of OJT (Dec 19, 2009) “Sad and Happy"

Another Saturday work. The day started somewhat gloomy not because it's raining that day, but there are changes in our office that we never expected but we need to accept. Aside from the fact that it was our bosses decision, we, as only OJT's of the company, need to respect the decisions of our superiors. But as the day goes, the whole day went well. It was the birthday of one of our bosses and at the same time our Christmas party too so we had a celebration. We eat different sumptuous food and got the opportunity to be with our bosses while eating. After that, our supervisor orient us for our future tasks because they are leaving for a family get together so we started drafting some of the tasks to be done and continue our work.

Sixth Day of OJT (Dec 18, 2009) “Future Tasks”

The day started well. We arrived at the office early. Our supervisor is not yet around but to be able to make our time valuable, we started working. As usual, we do our book editing stuffs and focus ourselves in working. While working, our supervisor came and asked what are the developments in our tasks. After checking it, he told us all the future plans regarding the upcoming editing tasks for another book to edit and discuss us the goals that we need to fulfill for the next couple of weeks then we divide ourselves into a group of two for work efficiency and start working tomorrow. We ended the day somewhat feeling challenged for our next sets of works for the upcoming OJT days.

Fifth Day of OJT (Dec 16, 2009) “The Real Work”

It's almost quarter to 8 when I arrived on our meeting place. My two other co-OJT's are waiting for me there. Since we have twenty minutes before our scheduled time, the three of us decided to walk, going to the office. When we finally arrived at the office, it was exactly 8am so we're not late. After resting for a while, we start to work. We go to our respective working places and do what is needed to do. Our supervisor asked us to open our email account and check if the soft copy of the work that we'll going to do that day is being sent there. After we got it, the real work has begun. Since i-Learn is a publishing company, we'll be working on books especially about editing and lay-outing its content. We started editing a book that is assigned to us that day. The partition of our work is by dividing each lesson in the book in each group so it would be easier for us to finish our work and save time for other load of task to work on. After several hours, we manage to finish some of the important editing in the book regardless of some little changes and suggestions that our supervisor is asking to. The day ended well (we're almost overtime because of so much enthusiastic in working ) and we go home somewhat fulfilled and happy for our first day of “real work”.

Fourth Day of OJT (Dec 12, 2009) “Multi-Tasking ”

I wake up late this morning so I rush myself just to be able to come on time and not be late. I prepared my things quickly and ride any available jeep. I thought I’m going to be late but thank God! I’m not! When I arrived at the office, I seat on the dining table to take my breakfast and to my surprise, I quickly clear everything in my plate because of starvation. That’s when I realized that because of waking up late, I forgot to eat my breakfast in our house. After eating, we start working. As for me, I helped some of my male classmates to do some fixing in the technical side. We reformat laptops and desktops; install OS and Drivers for them then after that I helped my female classmates to gift wrap some of the company’s giveaways I think, for their valued customers. One of my classmate, ask me to accompany him to buy something from Sta.Lucia and together we went there and find the thing that our supervisor is asking. After a few minutes, we go back to the office and continue working as a team. We haven’t finished all of our work because of limited time, so we just clean up and arrange the necessary things to fix up and decided for tomorrow’s continuation of our work.

Third Day of OJT (Dec 11, 2009) “The Long Awaited Laptops”

Even though we’ll only spending half day for our OJT today because of our early morning classes, still, the energy keeps on pushing us to work. After our class, we stay in school for a while then we’re on our way to i-Learn. We had difficulty in riding a jeep on the way but we manage to go early in the office. Arriving, we started our work as usual. One of my co-OJT was asked to go to the Gilmore to buy a hard disk for one of our computer resources while we, who stayed in the office, assist our supervisor to set up all the necessary technical stuffs in our work place. Then, during our break time, the brand new purchased laptops that we are waiting for almost two days, finally arrived. Since its almost time to go, we just set up the laptops quickly, arrange other things in the office and decided to continue our work the next day.

Second Day of OJT (Dec 9, 2009) “Disappointment”

The second day of our OJT in i-Learn. All of us are in the good mood of starting our job positively and full of energy. We arrived in the office early and we go directly to our workplace as we waited for instructions. While waiting for our bosses, we talked for our future plans as a part of the company. Afterwards, one of our bosses came in the room and asks us if we have a PC in our house. Four of us raise our hands knowing that it’s just only for additional resources if ever we’re not able to finished our work in the office but to our surprise and disappointment, the reason behind that, is that two of our co-OJT will be ‘out based’ meaning, they will be working in their house, getting the same allowance and will only report every Saturday. At first, it’s kind of sad because we’re all expecting that we will be working together and our mind is set on what will be our plans then suddenly that happens. Well, what can we do? We’re just an OJT. We must respect and obey the rules and regulation of the company as a professional. Yes, it’s a fact that its kind of gloomy, but we must continue regardless of what’s going to happen in the future while working in the company.

First Day of OJT (Dec 8, 2009) “This is it”

Our first day in our on-the-job training at the i-Learn Technologies Incorporated turns out just fine. At first we’re all nervous and at the same time under curiosity about what’s going to happen or what will be our work on our very first day as an OJT of a publishing company. The day started by greeting one of our classmate and co-OJT at i-Learn, casahamaq because its her birthday. After of so many chitchats, our bosses started to orient us and at the same time assigned us to some of the tasks for that day since our resources (which are additional PC’s and laptops) aren’t available yet that time. Some of the task that we have done is preparing our work place by simply cleaning and clearing some of the stuffs in the office like arranging bunch of books (which are really heavy and made us perspire somewhat but still we manage to enjoy that task because of our positive energy) and prepare the things that we will be needing in our workplace. We work while we chitchat to our supervisor. After that tiring but enjoyable task, we rest for a while and together, we eat a sumptuous lunch and then afterwards we continue our work till its time to go home. Our first day was a light one, maybe because the real work had not yet began, but I think we’re going to enjoy our stay here as part of the company. Working together as young professionals with an optimistic point of view also as a team is a good start for all of us.

The Announcement of whose IN or OUT for our OJT (Dec 7, 2009) “Good News!!!”

Just wanna add to my blog for my OJT updates. Dec 7, 2009, Monday, we are all waiting for the company’s announcement or Mam Sheryl’s announcement regarding the results of our interview last Friday. During our interview, the common thing that the manager had told us is about calling us whenever they decide if they we’re going to hire us, as a part of the company or not. We waited for any text messages or announcement from i-Learn, then during our Ethics class, Mam Sheryl Villaroman had texted me the “Good News” for all us and the text says “Congrats and Good luck to you all” which means all of us had passed the interview, were IN!!!!! I had announced it to my classmates and we start planning and preparing ourselves for the next step we’re going to take for the next few days as one of the staff of i-Learn Tecnology Incorporated.

Interview Day of OJT (Dec 4, 2009) “Are we In or Out???”

Thursday, Dec 3, 2009, our adviser in OJT, Mam Sheryl Villaroman asked us to report on the IT office to inform us that I, together with my other co-Tech Society classmates, are being asked by the publishing company i-Learn Technology Incorporated to have an interview the following day. As we learned this, we became very excited and full of energy but of course somewhat tense because we all know that i-Learn is an established company so, expectations for a good job as a part of the company would be present. But these things don’t push us to become down but rather gives us more adrenaline rush to pursue this training regardless of what challenges we’re going to face.
Friday, Dec 4, 2009, quarter to 10 in the morning, all of us who are in schedule for an interview that day, ask for the permission of our Biology professor to dismiss us earlier and after allowing us, we headed our way to i-Learn. After several arguments regarding the company’s address, how to get there and the asking of help to Mam Sheryl Villaroman(which is really a good help that time), we finally arrived at i-Learn. We thought that the manager will be very disappointed to us because we’re late more than an hour because of some difficulties we’ve encountered, but still, the manager welcomes us warmly and starts the interview first, through a group forum and then followed by a one on one interview to each and every one of us. After the interview, we made our way to our home and relax for a while after an exhausting day.
